Time flies when you're having fun...

Hi all! It's been awhile since I updated. I was out of town shooting an event last week, and this week have been trying to get caught up, if that's possible! :) You might notice I have changed my blog header. I hope you like it; if you're disappointed your child isn't on it, please realize that it doesn't mean anything--I just did this quickly and tried to find recent pictures I knew would fit properly in the little boxes without looking too out of place, and represent the varied ages of the children I work with. Keep bringing your kids to be photographed and when I update it maybe one of theirs will go up next time! :)

For news:
-I have updated some of my forms, and my contract, to reflect new policies and answer questions that have come up here and there.
-I've been participating in two study groups and enjoying the assignments for those; will post some of the photos soon.
-I will be purchasing a new background color in the near future, though plan to be doing indoor sessions for newborns and young infants only until winter, except in the case of bad weather or special situations.
-I'm currently scheduling June for those who have already contacted me, and have possibly one more opening in May. I will start senior sessions in August.

I am adding some more links to my blog. Of specific interest is the link to Project Childhood. From their own information page, "Project Childhood...is about creating a unified front among professional photographers in order to accomplish one goal: TO CELEBRATE CHILDHOOD." Definitely in line with my views on children's photography. Check them out!

Will update again tomorrow with some pictures! Stay tuned!

Sunny Day and Sailor Dresses

More of my kids today...most of my sessions this month have been postponed due to rain, so I've been taking advantage of the chance to take my kids out and shoot them (hehe...gotta love photography terms!) :)

For Christmas my mother-in-law gave them these adorable dresses that I've been dying to photograph them in. It was super-windy, so my older one was less than cooperative--said she was cold and kept running off--but my younger one was pretty fascinated with the new location and the seashell I brought along, so I was able to get some great ones of her! We had to work very fast and then head back to the van for cover...fortunately my mom was awesome enough to come with and help me with the girls!

Here are some that I love:

We didn't get what I was hoping for with the sailboats so I might try these again sometime, but here is what I did get:

Two different conversions on this one--can't decide which one I like better

Spring Flowers

Spring seems to be a little slow in arriving this year. A friend and I took my girls on a local wildflower walk, but the normal abundance of flowers was missing--all we could find at first were lots of little green sprouts. On the way back, though, we finally found some tiny blooms among the dry leaves. Not much yet, but it's exciting to see even a few! Spring is finally here!

Adorable 5-Month-Old

Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing this blue-eyed cutie...he was wonderful for the camera--lots of eye contact and hardly a fuss out of him the whole session! I had a really great time working with him and his mom (and their hilarious cats, who were fascinated with all of my equipment!). It's difficult to narrow down favorites from this one, because there are so many I just love! :) Hope you all don't mind!

i loved the rug in his nursery!

...and one processed a little funky, just for fun

Raincoats

Just some snapshots of my kids tonight, from a recent assignment for my study group. They both wanted to wear their raincoats and boots. It was a fun evening hanging out with them in the yard, after such a long winter!

We still had some snow on the ground at the time (the stuff just wouldn't go away!), so they got into the spirit of "spring cleaning" and attempted to shovel it all off the lawn. :)

My little one giving her trike a tune-up, to get it ready for riding! :)

oof, JUST...tall...enough! See??

...and off we go!

...of course, outdoor play time is not complete until one of them has to sit in time-out on the porch! :) Such drama!

More Blue Eyes

I get to photograph an awful lot of blue eyes lately! I've already shared some recent ones of my daughter and nephew, and now here are some of my friend's 3-month-old cutie! Doesn't he just have the most stylin' hair to go with those baby blues?? Love it! :)

Poor little guy wasn't feeling well...and as you can see, he has recently discovered his hands

Yes, this is the "guitar baby" from the newborn session I posted in January! Now here he is with Daddy's guitar case! :)

...and some black and white
I can't believe how sturdy he was--mom could actually stand him up and lean him back against her!
