Goodbye Kit Lens

As promised, I have plenty of pics to share from the community Back-to-School Bash sponsored by our church. Unfortunately, about an hour into it I dropped my camera and zoom lens! I had forgotten they were in my lap, and stood up to look for my daughter. The lens worked for a little while longer, but then it froze up and that was that. Yikes! The lens I broke was not the one I use for my portrait sessions, but it went pretty much everywhere else with me and I really feel lost without it! Fortunately my wonderfully supportive hubby gave me the green light to replace it with a much-better walk-around lens that I'd been hoping to own eventually, and after much hesitation I hit the "submit" button on the order tonight!! Some of you may remember the 18-200mm lens I rented for our trip to Mexico, and that is the one I decided to go with. It will be nice to have for family vacations and community events, commercial jobs, and even some portraits as well. :) So, I'm pretty excited...and will be adding a "lens fund" link to my blog for those of you who wish to donate. Haha, I'm kidding, of course! (kind of)

Keep checking back; tomorrow I will post the last photos taken with my kit lens!
